The Ontario Photonics Industry Network (OPIN) is an industry-led association comprised of professionals, companies and institutions that are interested or engaged in photonics-related activities.  

Our members are involved in studying photonics as an academic discipline, or researching and developing new photonics products and services, or manufacturing and marketing photonics-related technology, or servicing photonics-related producers and consumers.  

If you are interested or engaged in photonics in any manner, then you ought to be a member of OPIN – it exists for you, it is about you, and it is run by people like you.  

Our vision is to position OPIN as a self-sustained, integrated, industry-led network of photonics related people, companies and organizations in Ontario that interact closely, share ideas and expertise within and across academic/industry boundaries and strive for mutual success.  

Together we can facilitate effective stakeholder engagement to ensure that the right circumstances and conditions are created to help the photonics industry prosper and grow.  Your professional and business success is our primary concern.

We were established in 2007, and are an incorporated, not-for-profit organization funded under the Government of Ontario, specifically via the Ministry of Research and Innovation (MRI) and the Ontario Research Commercialization Program (ORCP).  

There is a lot going on at OPIN.  We invite you to join us so that we can be stronger still, and so that we can help you succeed in better and more effective ways.
